The other MT5 Bridge providers:

  • MT5Synced for per-user linked OMS logins.
  • MT5Bridge when MetaTrader clients should treat Obermind as their execution venue, market data provider, or both.

Connectivity

Obermind Platform is integrated with the native binary MetaTrader 5 Manager API.

Provider setup

  1. 1.Register the MT5Manager assembly (x64) beside Obermind Stream.
  2. 2.Place MT5APIManager64.dll on the host, or set ManagerApiPath.
  3. 3.Enable this provider in XmlProviderManagerSettings.

Do not add MT5Synced to the Aggregator Providers[] list. MT5Manager is the venue-style client. The host must be x64.

Instruments and AltIds

MT5 Manager names each instrument by its symbol on the MT5 server. The instrument's AltId on provider 94 links the catalogue instrument to that symbol.

The AltId fields:

  • Provider: 94.
  • Symbol: the MT5 symbol exactly as the server lists it, including any ending, for example EURUSDom.
  • Exchange: the first folder of the symbol's path on the MT5 server, for example Forex. Import fills it in.
  • Alt currency: the base currency for FX and crypto (EUR for EURUSDom), otherwise the profit currency.

The instrument factor is the MT5 contract size, for example 100000 for FX. Order size limits come from the MT5 volume settings divided by it.

Examples:

InstrumentTypeFactorSymbolExchangeAlt currency
EURUSDFX100000EURUSDomForexEUR
GBPUSDFX100000GBPUSDomForexGBP
USDJPYFX100000USDJPYomForexUSD

Adding AltIds in Dash

Import creates the instruments and their AltIds from the MT5 server's symbol list:

  1. 1.Open Data Manager, Import Instruments, and choose 94 under Provider.
  2. 2.Optionally enter part of a symbol in Symbol filter or pick a Type filter, and press Request. An empty filter returns the whole symbol list.
  3. 3.Select the rows, press Preview import, check the preview, and import.

Instruments take the MT5 symbol as their name. To import EURUSDom as EURUSD, press Load AltId attach rules: the rule removes the ending om from the symbol and keeps EURUSDom as the AltId.

For instruments already in the catalogue, tick Link to Instrument(s) and press Preview attach. Nothing new is created: each row is matched to the existing instrument by symbol and its AltId is added.

To add or change an AltId by hand:

  1. 1.In Obermind Dash, open Instruments, select the instrument and press Update.
  2. 2.Under Alternative IDs, press Add AltId.
  3. 3.Choose provider 94 under Provider, then fill in Symbol, Exchange and Alt currency as in the examples.
  4. 4.Press Save. A changed symbol resubscribes the instrument straight away, without a restart.

With several instruments selected, editing Alternative IDs replaces the list on all of them. Add AltIds one instrument at a time.

Assembly registration

Register this provider assembly in Obermind Stream Configuration. The host must be x64.

The native MT5APIManager64.dll must sit beside the Obermind Stream process, or be set in ManagerApiPath.

Only include the assembly for the provider you are enabling on this page.

<Provider>
  <TypeName>OberMind.MT5Manager.MT5Manager, OberMind.MT5Manager</TypeName>
  <Id>0</Id>
  <X64>true</X64>
</Provider>
